Westside Elementary student grateful for family and FBHonors program - Wednesday, December 6, 2023

My name is Faith and I was born on Aug. 12; I am 9 years old. I attend Westside Elementary. My teacher is Mr. Hinson. If you are respectful and follow procedures in his class, he is very kind.

I am enrolled in the FBHonors program, and we do fun projects such as experiments that challenge us to separate oil from water. My favorite subject to do in class is math. I like to do math because I can use a lot of strategies to solve problems.

When I am not working hard on my math problems, my favorite thing to do at home is to watch the "Spider-Man" movie that just came out on Netflix. I especially like to eat my favorite snacks while I watch it, which are Takis and Nerds.

When I grow up, I want to be a police officer so I can make the world safer. I also want to become more proficient in math when I grow up so I can count my money. Managing money is an important skill to learn. For example, if I am buying something at the store myself, I need to make sure that I get the correct amount of change back.

I like to play football because it makes me feel free. When I play, I feel like a bird that can fly anywhere. Some boys say that girls can’t play football and I want to prove them wrong.

During the holidays, my family likes to cook and enjoy time together. Sometimes I go to my dad’s side of the family for holidays. No matter where I am, I always appreciate the special time with my family and am grateful for them. I am grateful for the FBHonors program for teaching me how to be a responsible student, and always showing my best with everything I do!
