Family relies on FBH to help them through Hurricane Milton's devastation Monday, December 23, 2024

Kourtnei Salter and her family consider the Food Brings Hope Community a true blessing. The family includes Zion, 12, who attends Campbell Middle; Summer, 8, and Miamor, 5, who attend Turie T Small; Rashawn, 4; and Kenneth, 9 months old. FBHC was there for them after Hurricane Milton hit and is still supporting them as they continue to recover from the storm's devastation.

"FBHC has always been there for us, going above and beyond. We are incredibly humbled by their support. They have served us in countless ways, and the FBHC team is truly special," Kourtnei shared.

She went on to express her appreciation for the community-driven efforts of FBHC, saying, "They have given so much to our community through food and furniture donations, and even more during the holidays. The support we’ve received has been incredible, and we’ve been trying to find ways to express our gratitude."

She added, "It means so much to know that people have been thinking of us. Hurricane Milton left many in our community struggling and homeless, and many families are still in need of food and essentials."

Kourtnei's family has a wish list that includes clothes and shoes for their children (Zion, size 10-12 juniors and 7 shoes; Summer, size 7/8 and size 1 shoes); a small bike; a dollhouse; an electric scooter; and a pull-and-push learning tablet.

"Despite everything we've been through, I’m so thankful for the FBH Community," Kourtnei said. "The support we've received is truly amazing."
