FBHonors student is a critical thinker who wants to design video games Monday, December 9, 2024

My name is Paisley Monroe. I am 10 years old and in the fifth grade. I go to Bunnell Elementary and am part of the FBHonors program. I like being able to learn new things and make new friends at school. Math is my favorite subject because it’s exciting and fun to learn. I like learning difficult new things because they help my brain grow and adapt. There are so many different parts of math to learn, and I enjoy figuring them out.

One way I show kindness to my teachers and classmates is I make sure that they are able to speak without being interrupted. I also make sure they can trust me and know that I don’t lie to them. This is how I build and keep strong friendships.

My favorite movie character is Mulan because she protected her family and did what she thought was right, even when her family didn’t agree. In the end, she earned respect, and I think that is admirable. My favorite book series is "Warrior Cats" because it has lots of twists and turns. The stories are detailed and exciting, which really gets you into them. My favorite game is Roblox because it allows you to talk to other players and role-play. Role-playing in Roblox is fun, and it helps with real-life situations because you have to think about what to do in different situations, just like real life.

In the FBHonors program, we get to socialize which is fun, and make friends with students from other classes and grades. We also do STEM activities, try new foods, and help out around the school.

When I grow up, I want to be an artistic gamer and design video games. Gaming helps me focus and I love to think critically. I also love drawing and creating, and I think designing games would let me combine those skills with my love for gaming.

During the holidays, my family celebrates by having a big dinner and inviting relatives we don’t see often. This holiday season, I would love to get a cellphone, Barbies to share with my sisters, and art supplies because I love creating and crafting!
