Eighth-grader learns new skills at Food Brings Hope's TeenZone - Wednesday, December 13, 2023

My name is Daniel Williamson. I am 14 years old in the eighth grade at Ormond Beach Middle School. I am a member of Food Brings Hope’s TeenZone after-school club. I like attending TeenZone because we learn new things and I get to spend time with my friends.

Middle school can be tough, but I try to show kindness to my teachers and other students by giving them cards and hugs when someone is in need. My favorite cartoon character is Garfield the Cat. However, Garfield always talks about hating Mondays and I am the opposite. I love going to school, so I like Mondays! I would say that I hate Saturdays and Sundays because there’s no school.

When I get older, I’d like to be a pre-school teacher. One afternoon, while I was in the fourth grade, I helped a pre-school teacher, and the little kids were so much fun to be around. My favorite classes in school are reading, English language arts, math, social skills, history and science. When I’m not in class, I like playing outside with my friends; my favorite sport is kickball.

This holiday season, my grandma, parents and I will eat a big dinner with my aunt and uncle. Afterwards, I plan to sit and relax. The one gift I would really like to receive this season is a "Toy Story" DVD.
