My name is Thomas Darling and I am in the eighth grade at Campbell Middle School. Four mornings a week before school, I participate in the Change the Code tutoring to get help with reading.
My favorite subject is math because I am good at it. I really like my algebra teacher, Ms. Butts, and I have an “A” in her class. When I go to high school, I want to play basketball and work hard to get good grades so I can go to college. In college, I want to study science and play basketball.
My dream is to play in the NBA like my favorite player Russell Westbrook. He plays for the Clippers, he’s the most athletic point guard out there. When I am not at school, I like to play NBA 2K23 on my Xbox.
My family is originally from upstate New York, but we moved when I was 3 years old. I am the youngest of eight children, I have four brothers and three sisters. For Christmas, we will celebrate with our family with dinner and exchanging gifts. My dad and mom are both great cooks, my dad makes good lasagna. Our Christmas tree is not up yet, but I will help my mom put it up.
My mom is the best person I know. She has had the biggest influence in my life because she is selfless and is always looking out for us. She makes us do things that we don’t necessarily want to do, but that we should do.
This year for Christmas, I would like the NBA2K24 video game and some new clothing like a hoodie and slides.
